Images are powerful things, and I have always loved them for how they kindle my imagination. When I paint, I often set out to create an image that evokes a story. I rarely have a story in mind when I begin a painting, but the beginnings of one is usually present when I’ve finished. With that beginning, with that seed, a story germinates and breathes and grows and finds its way to paper.
